The Police Coast Guard (PCG) has arrested ten men, aged between 27 and 51, for their suspected involvement in illegal transactions of Marine Gas Oil (MGO).

On 6 September 2018, in a joint operation with the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), the PCG arrested two men who are crew of a Singapore registered passenger launch boat for dishonestly receiving stolen MGO. Another three men from two other Singapore registered vessels and five men from a foreign tugboat were subsequently arrested on 7 September 2018 for their involvement in illegal transactions of MGO. The foreign registered tugboat and cash amounting to S$300 were seized for investigations.

The ten men will be charged in court on 8 September 2018 with criminal breach of trust as servant and dishonestly receiving stolen property, punishable under sections 408 and 411 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 respectively.

Commander of the PCG, Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police (SAC) Cheang Keng Keong commended his officers for their excellent team work which resulted in the swift arrest. He added that PCG will spare no efforts and will continue to take action against such offenders.
