The Singapore Police Force (SPF) and the National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC) held the Delta League Grand Finals on 22 December 2018 at Jalan Besar Stadium. Mr Tan Puay Kern, Vice-Chairman of National Crime Prevention Council graced the event as the guest of honour.
For this edition, there were more than 1,000 players from 112 teams competing in three different groups (Under-16 Boys, Under-18 Boys and Girls Open Category).
The football tournament is held twice a year during the June and December school holidays to keep the students meaningfully occupied during the long school holidays. Besides playing football, the youths also took part in other activities designed to enhance their crime prevention awareness and inculcate a sense of social responsibility, teamwork and discipline.
This December, the youths designed anti-scam posters which required them to apply what they have learnt, to further educate others. The winning posters were exhibited during the event, and uploaded on the Facebook pages of Delta League and various Neighbourhood Police Centres.
The next edition of Delta League will run during the June 2019 school holidays.
