Three Women Arrested In Enforcement Operation Against Vice Activities

The Police have arrested three women, aged between 25 and 28, during a vice-related enforcement operation on 26 December 2018.

During the enforcement operations conducted by Central Police Division, the women who were arrested for offences under the Women’s Charter, are believed to have advertised their sexual services online and carried out the vice activities at a hotel located along Kampong Bahru Road.

Investigations are ongoing.

Landlords and hotel owners are advised to ensure that tenants do not carry out vice activities in their premises. Unlicensed brothel operators can be given a maximum fine of $10,000 and/or up to five years’ imprisonment. Any person who knowingly lives wholly or in part on the earnings of the prostitution of another person can be jailed up to five years and fined up to $10,000.

The Police take a serious view of anyone involved in criminal activities and will continue to take tough enforcement action against those found breaking the law.
