The Police have arrested a 30-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of criminal trespass. 

On 26 December 2018 at about 1.05am, the Police received a report that a man who was recording videos of women inside a female toilet cubicle at 300 Tampines Avenue 5 had been detained. Officers from Bedok Police Division responded to the incident and arrested the man. Preliminary investigations revealed that the man is believed to be involved in other similar cases.

The man will be charged in court on 15 January 2019 with criminal trespass under Section 447 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, and intruding the privacy of a woman under Section 509 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. Offenders found guilty of criminal trespass shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 3 months, or with fine which may extend to $1,500, or with both. Those found guilty of intruding the privacy of a woman shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 1 year, or with fine, or with both.
