The Police have arrested a 34-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a series of theft cases.
Between 3 September and 21 September 2018, the Police were alerted to several reports of theft of e-scooters, e-bikes and bicycles in the vicinity of Chai Chee Avenue, Bedok South and Tampines. Through ground enquiries and with the aid of police cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the suspect and arrested him on 14 January 2019 along Chai Chee Road.
The man will be charged in court on 16 January 2019 with theft under Section 379 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. Anyone convicted for theft is liable to a jail term which may extend to 3 years, or with fine, or both.
