Four Youths Arrested For Series Of Mischief And Theft With Common Intention From Mini Ktv Booths

The Police have arrested four youths aged between 15 and 19 for their suspected involvement in a series of mischief and theft from mini KTV booths located in several shopping malls.

Between 22 November 2018 and 25 January 2019, the Police were alerted to several cases of mischief and theft from mini KTV booths at several shopping malls in the eastern part of Singapore and Bencoolen Street. Through ground enquiries and with the aid of CCTV footages, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the four youths and arrested them.

Preliminary investigations revealed that cash boxes installed within the KTV booths were forcefully pried opened and cash were stolen.

Two of the youths will be charged in court on 26 January 2019 with the offence of theft in dwelling with common intention under Section 380 read-with 34 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, which is punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 7 years, and shall also be liable to fine. Investigations are ongoing against the other two youths.
