On 23 February 2019, Punggol Neighbourhood Police Centre (NPC) held its annual Neighbourhood Watch Day 2019 (NWD) at Oasis Terraces. The event was graced by guest of honour, Mr Ng Chee Meng, Minister, Prime Minister’s Office, Member of Parliament for Pasir Ris-Punggol Group Representation Constituency.

Punggol NWD aims to recognise the effort of the community, including the Citizens On Patrol members, in assisting the Police in their fight against crime. It also serves as a platform to educate the community on various crime prevention measures.

During the event, the Police also presented Public Spiritedness Awards to seven members of the public. One of the recipients is Mr Siew Pai Oak, who is a member of the Vehicle On Watch (VOW) programme. He had contributed CCTV footage from his in-car camera to the Police after he found out that his neighbour was a victim of theft from vehicle. The footage had helped Police identify and successfully arrest the culprit.
