The Police have arrested a 61-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of snatch theft. 
 
On 9 March 2019 at about 7am, a 68-year-old woman reported to the Police that her handbag had been snatched by an unknown man at the void deck of Blk 650 Ang Mo Kio Street 61. Her handbag had contained cash of over S$70. 
 
Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 4 on the same day. 
 
The man will be charged in court on 11 March 2019 with snatch theft under Section 356 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, which is punishable with imprisonment for a term of not less than one year and not more than seven years, and shall also be liable to caning.
