The Police have arrested a 37-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of outrage of modesty.
On 23 April 2019 at 4.15pm, the Police received a report that an 18-year-old woman was molested by an unknown man on board a train heading from Yio Chu Kang to Choa Chu Kang MRT Station. With the assistance of the SMRT staff, the man was detained and was subsequently arrested by the Police.
Investigations are ongoing.
Anyone convicted of outrage of modesty under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 shall be punished with an imprisonment term which may extend to 2 years, or with fine, or with caning, or with any combination of such punishments.
