The Police have arrested a 45-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a series of theft of bicycles.
On 17 April 2019 at about 11.40 pm, the Police received a report that a bicycle parked at the bicycle bay at the void deck of Blk 514 Chai Chee Lane was missing.
Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 3 May 2019. Preliminary investigations revealed that the man is believed to be involved in two other similar cases of bicycle thefts.
The man will be charged in court on 4 May 2019 with theft under Section 379 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, he faces an imprisonment term which may extend to 3 years, or with fine, or both.
