The Police have arrested a 39-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of theft of a Rolex watch from a shop.

On 8 May 2019 at about 10.50pm, the Police were alerted to a theft of a Rolex watch, costing over $24,000, at a shop along Jurong Gateway Road.

Through follow-up investigation and ground enquiries, officers from Clementi Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him in less than 24 hours. The watch, which was sold to another shop, was recovered. Cash proceeds from the sale of the watch, amounting to $14,372 was seized for investigations.

The man will be charged in court on 11 May 2019 with theft in dwelling under Section 380 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, which carries an imprisonment for a term which may extend to 7 years and shall also be liable to fine.
