The Police have arrested eight women and one man, aged between 23 and 39, in a two-day enforcement operation against massage establishments, public entertainment outlets and liquor outlets. The operation was conducted by Central Police Division in Chinatown and along Middle Road on 10 and 11 May 2019.
During the enforcement checks, one unlicensed massage establishment was detected. A woman was arrested for offences under Women’s Charter and Employment of Foreign Manpower Act.
Three public entertainment outlets were found to have contravened public entertainment licensing conditions. Seven women were arrested for offences under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act. A man was arrested for obstructing police officers in the course of duty offence.
One liquor outlet was found to have contravened liquor licensing conditions.
Investigations are ongoing.
Actions will be taken against the operators for flouting the rules and regulations under the Massage Establishment Act, Public Entertainment Act and Liquor Control (Supply & Consumption) Act. The Police takes a serious view of anyone involved in criminal activities and will continue to take tough enforcement action against those found breaking the law.
