The Police have arrested a 42-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a series of theft.

On 13 May 2019 at about 12.50pm, the Police received a report of the theft of bags at a public swimming pool along Tampines Walk. Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from CCTV cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 15 May 2019.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the man is believed to be involved in similar cases of theft reported at public gyms, sports facilities and swimming pools island wide.

The man will be charged in court on 17 May 2019 with theft under Section 379 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, which is punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 3 years, and shall also be liable to fine.
