In a ceremony held at Central Police Division on 7 June 2019, eight members of the public were commended for their acts of public spiritedness in assisting the Police in three separate cases.

In the first case, on 14 March 2019, Mr Lam Siew Pak and Ms Maria Leong spotted a woman on the edge of the river in front of Fullerton Bay Hotel. The woman was observed to be emotionally unstable and expressed her intention to jump into the river. After calling the Police for assistance, both Mr Lam and Ms Leong then tried to calm the woman while waiting for the Police to arrive. They eventually managed to bring the woman to safety.

In the second case, on 17 March 2019, Mr Muhammad Talip Bin Ajman Ali assisted the Police to chase after a man along Lower Delta Road, for his suspected involvement in a case of theft. The man was subsequently arrested with the help of Mr Muhammad Talip. During the chase, he noticed that the man had discarded a mobile phone which was subsequently recovered and established to be the victim’s mobile phone.

In the last case, on 22 March 2019, Ms Anthea Julia Chua, Ms Cheong Pei Lin Debbi, Ms Koh Huishan Deborah, Ms Hemaa Shruthi Sekar and Ms Ng Rui Ashlynna were walking along Kim Pong Road when a female victim approached and informed them that a man had performed an obscene act in her presence earlier.
