The Police have arrested ten women, aged between 25 and 43, during a two-day enforcement operation against massage establishments and public entertainment outlets along Rangoon Road, Maude Road, Magazine Road, Anson Road, South Beach Road and Chinatown on 20 and 21 June 2019.
During the enforcement checks conducted by Central Police Division, three licensed massage establishments were found to have contravened licensing conditions. Three women, aged between 28 and 43, were arrested for offences under the Women’s Charter.
During the enforcement checks on public entertainment outlets, two outlets were found to have contravened public entertainment licensing conditions. Seven women, aged between 25 and 34, were arrested for offences under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act.
Investigations are ongoing.
Actions will be taken against the operators for flouting the rules and regulations under the Massage Establishment Act and Public Entertainment Act. The Police takes a serious view of anyone involved in criminal activities and will continue to take tough enforcement action against those found breaking the law.
