The Police have arrested two men aged 19 and 22 for their suspected involvement in a case of theft of motorcycle.
On 2 July 2019 at about 7.00pm, the Police received a report that a motorcycle was stolen along Anchorvale Crescent.
Through ground enquiries, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the men and arrest them on the same day. The motorcycle was also recovered.
The men will be charged in court on 4 July 2019 with theft of motor vehicle with common intention which is punishable under Section 379A read with Section 34 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, he will be liable to an imprisonment term of up to 7 years and a fine.
The Police would like to advise all motorcycle owners to adopt the following crime prevention measures:
- Park your motorcycle in well-lit areas;
- Install an anti-theft alarm for your motorcycle;
- Use a motorcycle canvas to cover the motorcycle, securing both ends;
- Use additional locking devices such as disc brake locks or install a suspension guard; and
- Remove the ignition key and lock the motorcycle, whenever it is left unattended.
