The Police have arrested 19 men and one woman, aged between 18 and 39, in a multi-agency anti-crime operation which ended on 30 November 2019.
During the two-day operation, officers from the Criminal Investigation Department, the Central Narcotics Bureau and the Singapore Civil Defence Force conducted a series of coordinated raids and proactive checks at various public entertainment outlets located in the central and south-east of Singapore. The suspects were arrested for various offences, including gang and suspected drug-related offences. Some of the entertainment outlets were also found to have breached the Fire Safety Act and Public Entertainment Licensing conditions. Investigations are ongoing. Actions will be taken against the operators for breaching the rules and regulations under the Fire Safety Act and Public Entertainments Act.
The Police will continue to work with other law enforcement agencies and keep up the tough enforcement action against those who commit crime and take part in illegal activities.
