The Police have arrested five men, aged between 19 and 26, for their suspected involvement in a case of affray.
On 3 December 2019 at about 3.40pm, the Police were alerted to a fight along Tampines Street 81. Preliminary investigations revealed that the fight broke out between two groups of people over a staring incident. A 21-year-old man sustained cuts on his face and was conveyed to Changi General hospital.
Through investigations and with the aid of closed circuit television footages, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identities of the men and arrested them within five hours of the report.
Police investigations are ongoing. The offence of affray under Section 267B of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 carries an imprisonment for a term which may extend to 1 year, or with fine which may extend to S$5000, or both.
