The Police have arrested a 64-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of theft from vehicle.

On 8 December 2019 at about 4.45pm, the Police received a report that a mobile phone and a wallet were stolen from a vehicle parked along Circuit Road.

Through investigations and with the aid of CCTV footages, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 5 January 2020.

Investigations are ongoing. The offence of theft carries an imprisonment term which may extend to three years, or with a fine, or with both.

The Police would like to advise all vehicle owners to adopt the following crime prevention measures:

  • Park your vehicle in well-lit areas;
  • Install an anti-theft alarm system and ensure it is well-maintained;
  • Remove cash cards and other valuables, such as laptops and mobile phones, before leaving the vehicle; and
  • Lock all vehicle doors and wind up all windows when leaving the vehicle.
