The Police have arrested a 67-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a series of mischief by fire cases.

Between 19 and 20 May 2016, the Police received reports where a lorry was set on fire at a carpark along Jurong West Avenue 1 and a market stall was burned at Block 505 Jurong West Street 52. 

Through follow-up investigations, officers from Jurong Police Division established the identity of the man and subsequently arrested him on 28 January 2020. 

The man will be charged in court on 30 January 2020 for mischief by fire punishable under Section 435 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. Anyone convicted for mischief by fire shall be punished with an imprisonment term which may extend to 7 years, and shall also be liable to fine.
