The Police have arrested a 19-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of outrage of modesty.
On 27 February 2020 at about 6.45 pm, the Police received a report that a 12-year-old female victim had been molested by an unknown man along Eunos Crescent. Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 2 March 2020.
The man will be charged in court with outrage of modesty on 3 March 2020. The offence of outrage of modesty, punishable under Section 354(2) of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, carries a jail term of up to 5 years, a fine, caning, or any combination of such punishments.
