The Police have arrested two men, aged 31 and 45, for their suspected involvement in a series of theft.

Between January and February 2020, the Police received four reports of theft, where batteries were found missing from the telecom equipment rooms at the void decks of various HDB housing estates. In total, 110 locations were reported to be affected.

Through investigations and with the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Ang Mo Kio and Woodlands Police Division established the identities of the men and subsequently arrested them along Mandai Estate and Fajar Road on 2 March 2020.

The 31-year-old-man will be charged in court on 3 March 2020 with an offence of theft in dwelling with common intention, under Section 380, read with Section 34 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. The offence carries a jail term which may extend to 7 years, and a fine.

Investigations against the remaining man are ongoing.
