The Police have arrested a 27-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a series of cheating cases.

Between 9 and 14 March 2020, the Police received several reports from food deliverymen that they did not receive payment for the food that they had delivered to various units at a block located along Choa Chu Kang Drive.

Through investigations, officers from Jurong Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 18 March 2020. Preliminary investigations revealed that the man had allegedly ordered food through delivery companies on cash terms. He would set the delivery address to units that are not related to him and instruct the food deliverymen to place the food outside the unit. He also informed the deliverymen that payment will be made via bank transfer. The food was subsequently collected by the man but no payment was made.

The man will be charged in court on 20 March 2020 with cheating under Section 420 of the Penal Code, which carries an imprisonment term that may extend to 10 years, and a fine.
