In a ceremony held at Clementi Police Division on 19 March 2020, a member of the public was commended for his public spiritedness and staff from five organisations were commended for their strong community partnership with the Police.
Case Commended for Public Spiritedness Award
On 11 November 2019, Mr Reshi Kumar S/O Thenarasu was at a food centre located in West Coast, when a man had sought his assistance to help his wife who was being restrained by an unknown man inside a toilet cubicle. Mr Reshi climbed over a 2-metres high wall and entered the handicapped toilet. He warned the man keep his distance and unlocked the toilet door. The man tried to flee when the Police arrived, but was detained by the Police with the assistance from Mr Reshi. The man was subsequently arrested for outrage of modesty.
Organisations Commended for Community Partnership Award (Organisation)
The following five organisations were highlighted for their close collaboration with Clementi Police Division in developing and implementing crime prevention initiatives. In recognition of their significant contributions, the organisations were presented with the Community Partnership Award (Organisation).

· Queenstown Active Ageing Committee
· Ulu Pandan Active Ageing Committee
Assistant Commissioner of Police (AC) Jarrod Pereira, Commander of Clementi Police Division said, “Mr Reshi had displayed a strong sense of civic-mindedness and courage, and his actions have made the community a safer place for all. Similarly, we value the strong collaboration between the Police and community partners in our crime fighting efforts. They are the reason why Singapore is one of the safest place in the world.”
