The Police have arrested a 45-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of vandalism.

On 18 March 2020, the Police received a report of a case of vandalism where burnt marks were found on several notice boards placed within lifts in several Housing and Development Board blocks along Yishun Avenue 5 and Yishun Street 72.

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Woodlands Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 19 March 2020.

Police investigations are ongoing. The offence of vandalism under Section 3 of the Vandalism Act carries a fine not exceeding $2,000 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 3 years, and for subsequent convictions, liable to be punished with caning with not less than 3 strokes and not more than 8 strokes.
