The Police have arrested two men, aged 57 and 61, for their suspected involvement in a case of voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapon.

On 5 April 2020 at about 5.15pm, the Police were alerted to a man found injured at the void deck of a HDB block along Chai Chee Road. The 61-year-old man was conveyed conscious to Changi General Hospital.

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from police cameras, preliminary investigations revealed that the injured man is believed to have been in a fight with another man, and both parties were injured. Officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the other party, a 57-year-old man, and arrested him within 3 hours on the same day. The 61-year-old man was also arrested subsequently.

Police investigations are ongoing.

Anyone convicted for the offence of voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapon with common intention under Section 324 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 shall be liable for an imprisonment term which may extend to 7 years, or with fine, or with caning, or with any combination of such punishments.
