The Police have arrested a 44-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a series of theft cases.

On 28 April 2020, the Police received a report that a bird and a birdcage which were left outside a residential unit along Pasir Ris Street 21 were stolen.

Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from CCTVs and police cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 14 May 2020. The man is believed to be involved in at least two other similar cases of theft in Tampines and Pasir Ris housing estates. Police investigations are ongoing.

The offence of theft under Section 379 of the Penal Code is punishable with an imprisonment term which may extend to three years, or a fine, or both.
