The Police have arrested the last remaining suspect wanted in connection to the case of rioting armed with deadly weapons at People's Park Centre on 10 May 2020.
The 22-year-old man, Muhammad Syukri Bin Muhammad Iskandar, was arrested on 18 May 2020. He will be charged in court on 20 May 2020 for rioting armed with deadly weapons and will be remanded at Central Police Division for further investigation. The offence of rioting armed with deadly weapons, punishable under Section 148 of the Penal Code, carries an imprisonment term of up to 10 years and caning.
A 45-year-old man was arrested on 19 May 2020 for harbouring the suspect. Police investigations are ongoing. The Police would like to remind the public that harbouring fugitives is a serious offence punishable with imprisonment and fine.
Both men will also be investigated for breaching safe distancing measures under the COVID-19 (Temporary Measures) (Control Order) Regulations 2020.
The Police are committed to keep Singapore safe, and will spare no effort to ensure that offenders are brought to justice to face the full brunt of the law.
