The Police have arrested a 37-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of rash act causing hurt and a drug-related offence on 13 August 2020.
During an operation on 12 August 2020, the Police conducted a check on a man along Bukit Merah Lane. During the check, the man was uncooperative. He accelerated his car and drove towards the police officers who attended to the incident, injuring one police officer, before driving off.
The Police have zero tolerance towards such brazen acts which threaten the safety of our officers and will not hesitate to take action against those who blatantly disregard the law. The man will be charged in court on 14 August 2020 for the offence of rash act causing hurt under Section 337(a) of the Penal Code. The offence carries an imprisonment term of up to one year, or fine of up to $5,000, or both.
