12 Arrested In Enforcement Operation Against Unlicensed Public Entertainment Outlet

On 10 October 2020, the Police arrested 12 people during an enforcement operation at an unlicensed public entertainment (PE) outlet located along Serangoon Ave 2.

During the operation by Ang Mo Kio Police Division, a 27-year-old man and 11 women, aged between 22 and 39, were arrested for working without a valid work permit under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act. In addition, the man is also being investigated for operating a public entertainment outlet without a valid license. Police investigations are ongoing.

Under the Public Entertainment Act, the offence of providing public entertainment without a valid license carries a fine not exceeding S$20,000.

Actions will be taken against the operator for flouting the rules and regulations under the Public Entertainment Act. The Police takes a serious view of anyone found breaking the law and offenders will be dealt with in accordance to the law.
