The Police have arrested a 24-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous weapon.

On 21 October 2020, the Police were alerted to a case where a victim was purportedly slashed on his back along Rowell road. The victim was conscious when conveyed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital. Officers from Central Police Division followed up on the report and arrested the man within a span of 48 hours. Preliminary investigations reveal that both the man and the victim are known to each other, and the man allegedly had a dispute with the victim before the incident.

The man will be charged in court on 24 October 2020 with voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapon under Section 324 of the Penal Code. If convicted, the man is liable for a fine, a jail term not exceeding 7 years, caning or any combination of such punishments.

Police investigations are ongoing.
