The Police have arrested five men, aged between 21 and 41 for their suspected involvement in a case of rioting.

On 15 November 2020 at about 9.50am, the Police were alerted to a case where a 61-year-old male victim was found unconscious and bleeding at the void deck of Blk 9 North Bridge Road. The victim was subsequently conveyed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

Through investigations and with the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Central Police Division established the identities of the five men and arrested them on 16 November 2020. Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim is known to one of the men and they had purportedly attacked the victim due to a dispute.

The five men will be charged in court on 17 November 2020 with rioting under Section 147 of the Penal Code. The offence carries an imprisonment term of up to seven years, and caning.
