Through follow up investigations, officers from Clementi Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 3 December 2020. Preliminary investigations revealed that the man is believed to be involved in other similar cases at Holland and Commonwealth housing estates.

The man will be charged in court on 5 December 2020 with theft under Section 379 of the Penal Code. The offence carries an imprisonment term of up to to 3 years and a fine, or with both.
