The Singapore Police Force (SPF) held 22 decentralised graduation ceremonies at the Home Team Academy from 13 April to 23 April 2021 for 613 graduating trainees. In his speech, Assoc Prof Faishal emphasised the integral role of Police officers in maintaining law and order, and their continued commitment towards doing so amidst the pandemic. He further noted that 92 per cent of medically eligible officers from the Home Team have already undergone or registered for the COVID-19 vaccination, so that they can carry out their duties with peace of mind.
Assoc Prof Faishal also shared that the Police have increasingly deployed more technology such as the drones and robots, including the Multi-Purpose All Terrain Autonomous Robot (M.A.T.A.R), to support Police operations. He added that the Police have also reviewed policies and processes to ensure their continued relevancy to serve the needs of residents.
The ceremonies ended on a high note with the graduating officers reciting the Police Pledge and reaffirming their loyalty to the SPF and the Republic of Singapore.
