The Police are investigating five men, aged between 46 and 71, for their suspected involvement in illegal gambling activities.

On 26 August 2021 at about 6.30pm, officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division conducted an operation along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 and found five persons purportedly gathering and engaging in gambling-related activities. Police investigations are ongoing.

Under the Common Gaming Houses Act, the offence of gaming in public is punishable with a fine not exceeding $5,000, or imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months, or both. The offence of promoting or intentionally facilitating the commission of gaming in public is punishable with a fine of not less than $20,000 and not more than $200,000, and imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years.

The Police take a serious view against all forms of illegal gambling activities and will continue to take tough enforcement action against offenders in accordance with the law.
