The Police have arrested a 24-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of snatch theft.

On 30 September 2021 at about 2.50pm, the Police received a report of a case of snatch theft, where a female victim’s purse was allegedly snatched by an unknown man along Jurong West Street 42.

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from Police cameras, officers from Jurong Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on the same day, within four hours of the Police report.

The man will be charged in court on 2 October 2021 with snatch theft under Section 356 of the Penal Code. The offence carries an imprisonment term of not less than one year and not more than seven years and caning.
