The Police are investigating two teenagers for their suspected involvement in a series of e-Commerce scams.

In February 2022, the Police received multiple reports from victims who were purportedly cheated by an online seller who had advertised selling Nintendo Switch products on e-commerce platforms. The victims were allegedly deceived by the seller into making deposits amounting to $232.00 to a bank account. After receiving the payment, the seller became uncontactable and did not deliver the items.

Through investigations, officers from Woodlands Police Division established the identity of the sellers, who are currently assisting with police investigations pertaining to their involvement in these cases.

Investigations are ongoing. The offence of cheating under Section 420 of the Penal Code 1871 carries an imprisonment term of up to 10 years and a fine.
