Two Men Arrested For Voluntarily Causing Grievous Hurt By Dangerous Weapons For Incident At Boon Lay Drive

The Police have arrested two men, aged 20 and 21, for their suspected involvement in a case of voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons with common intention under Section 326 read with Section 34 of the Penal Code 1871.

On 6 April 2022 at 5.02pm, the Police responded to calls for assistance at Block 175 Boon Lay Drive, where two men had injured two other men with weapons.

The two male victims, aged 22 and 23, were conveyed conscious to the hospital. Preliminary investigations revealed that the two men are known to the victims.

Through extensive ground enquiries and with the aid of images from Police cameras and CCTVs, officers from Jurong Division and Criminal Investigation Department established the identities of the two men and arrested them on 7 April 2022 at about 4.05pm at Woodlands Street 12.

Police investigations are ongoing.

The offence of voluntarily causing grievous hurt carries an imprisonment term of life imprisonment or imprisonment for a term which may extend to 15 years, and shall also be liable to a fine or caning.

The Police do not tolerate brazen acts of violence and will deal with offenders severely, in accordance with the law.
