The Police have arrested a 49-year-old woman for her suspected involvement in the murder of a 73-year-old man.
On 28 April 2022 at about 8.50pm, the Police were alerted to a case of death at a residential unit along Bishan Street 23. Upon arrival, Police found the 73-year-old man lying motionless inside the residential unit and he was pronounced dead by paramedics at scene. Through follow up investigations, the 49-year-old woman, who is a migrant domestic worker in the deceased’s household, was arrested subsequently.
The woman will be charged in court on 30 April 2022 with murder under Section 302(1) of the Penal Code 1871. The offence of murder carries the death penalty. Police investigations are ongoing.
