The Police will be charging a 67-year-old woman for her suspected involvement in a case of theft in dwelling.
On 11 April 2022 at about 7.40pm, the Police received a report of a theft at 2 Jurong East Street 21. Preliminary investigations revealed that the woman had entered the shop and allegedly stole several items with a total value amounting to about $360.
Through extensive ground enquiries and with the aid of CCTV footages, officers from Clementi Police Division established the identity of the woman on 14 April 2022. The stolen items were also recovered.
The woman will be charged in court on 30 May 2022 with theft in dwelling under Section 380 of the Penal Code 1871. The offence of theft in dwelling carries an imprisonment term which may extend to seven years, and a fine.
