The Police have arrested a 55-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of mischief by fire.
On 13 April 2023 at 3.13am, the Police received a call for assistance for a case of fire along Redhill Lane. Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from Police cameras, officers from Clementi Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him within five hours of the report. Preliminary investigations revealed that it was allegedly a deliberate act committed by the man, who is believed to be involved in another similar case of mischief by fire reported on the same day.
The man will be charged in court on 13 April 2023 with the offence of mischief by fire under Section 435 of the Penal Code 1871. The offence carries an imprisonment term of up to seven years, and a fine.
