The Police have arrested a 30-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of public nuisance.
On 3 August 2023 at 4.48pm, the Police received a report that a man was allegedly causing a commotion in the vicinity of Stadium MRT station which purportedly happened on 2 August 2023. Through extensive ground enquiries and with the aid of images from CCTVs, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 4 August 2023.
The man will be charged in court on 7 August 2023 with public nuisance under Section 290 of the Penal Code 1871.
Anyone found guilty of the offence of public nuisance under Section 290 of the Penal Code 1871 will be liable for a fine which may extend to $2,000. In the case where the offender knew that the act or omission constituting the public nuisance will cause or will probably cause any common injury, danger or annoyance to the public, the offender may be liable upon conviction to an imprisonment term which may extend to three months, a fine which may extend to $2,000, or both.
