The Police have arrested a 21-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons. 

He is the third man who was allegedly involved in a fight along Read Crescent Park on 13 August 2023, whereby a victim was purportedly slashed on his head after an altercation with three unknown male persons. The victim sustained a deep laceration on his forehead and was conscious when conveyed to the hospital. After the fight, the three assailants fled.

Two men were arrested on the same day of the incident on 13 August 2023, and have been charged in court on 15 August 2023 with an offence of affray under Section 267B of the Penal Code 1871. The Police have previously issued an appeal for information  for the whereabouts of the third man. On 16 August 2023 at about 3.20pm, officers from the Central Police Division established the whereabouts of the third man and arrested him along Anchorvale Link.

The third man will be charged in court on 17 August 2023 with an offence of voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons under Section 324 of the Penal Code 1871. The offence carries an imprisonment for a term which may extend to 7 years, or with fine, or with caning, or with any combination of such punishments.
