The Police have arrested three men, aged 29 to 38 years old for their suspected involvement in a case of attempted theft in dwelling with common intention from donation boxes in a church at Upper Serangoon Road.
On 8 September 2023 at 1.27 pm, the Police received a report that there were three men seen behaving suspiciously in the compound of the church.
With the aid of images from CCTV, officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division established the identities of the three men and arrested them along Syed Alwi Road. Preliminary investigations revealed that the three men are believed to be involved in other similar cases of theft in dwelling.
The three men will be charged in court on 9 September 2023 with the offence of Attempted Theft in Dwelling with Common Intention punishable under Section 380 read with Section 34 and Section 512 of the Penal Code 1871. The offence carries an imprisonment term of up to 7 years, and a fine.
