Official Opening Of The New Woodleigh Neighbourhood Police Centre

The new Woodleigh Neighbourhood Police Centre (NPC) was officially opened by Ms Sun Xueling, Minister of State, Ministry of Home Affairs & Ministry of Social and Family Development on 31 October 2023.

The new NPC will better serve the policing needs of the residents, businesses, and commercial developments of the new Bidadari estate and its surrounding areas. This is part of the Police’s continual efforts to ensure its policing services remain responsive to the evolving security challenges and our population’s needs.

Woodleigh NPC boasts redesigned workflow processes leveraging tech-enabled systems to enhance the provision of policing services to members of the public, as well as improve operational efficiency (see Annex for further details).

Similar to other NPCs, Woodleigh NPC is staffed with a Ground Response Force for ptrols and incident response, a Crime Strike Force for anti-crime and investigative duties and a Community Policing Unit for community engagement.

Woodleigh NPC will work closely with its stakeholders and residents to ensure the safety and security of the local community.

Self-help options are available via the Self-Help Kiosks and the Found Property Drop Box.

  1. Members of the public can lodge online reports via the self-help kiosks. This service will benefit residents with no internet access. The interface of the self-help kiosks also provides simple step-by-step instructions to guide members of the public in the report lodging process. More verification options are also available. Previously, members of the public could only use their SingPass to lodge reports. They now have the option to use their identification cards, work permits or passports.

  2. The Found Property Drop Box will enable members of the public to conveniently register and hand over found properties. These boxes have also been rolled out at various NPCs and Neighbourhood Police Posts.

Automated Armoury System (AAS)

The AAS is a smart locker system complemented by Radio-Frequency Identification technology and Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), for officers to perform self-withdrawal and return of their firearms. With multiple authentication terminals, several officers will be able to withdraw/return their sidearms and tasers at the same time, saving time and improving efficiency at work.

Automated Equipping System (AES)

The AES allows officers to self-draw and return equipment from the lockers using 2FA system. This allows multiple officers to withdraw and return equipment concurrently, saving time and improving efficiency at work.
