The Police have arrested a 39-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of rash act causing hurt.
On 2 March 2024 at about 6.35am, the Police were alerted to a case where a car was found stationary in the middle of the road and a man was seen unresponsive inside the car. During the engagement with the Police, the man allegedly started the car’s engine and sped off. While driving off, the car ran over a Police officer’s left foot and caused hurt to the officer.
Through extensive ground enquiries and with the aid of images from Police cameras and CCTVs, Police officers from Tanglin Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 4 March 2024.
The man will be charged in court on 5 March 2024 for the offence of rash act causing hurt under Section 337(a) of the Penal Code 1871. The offence carries an imprisonment of up to one year, or fine of up to S$5,000, or both.
