The Singapore Police Force (SPF) hosted a Dining-In in honour of Prime Minister (PM) Lee Hsien Loong at the Senior Police Officers’ Mess (SPOM) on Wednesday, 17 April 2024.
The Dining-In is a long-standing Police tradition, held to honour distinguished individuals who have made significant contributions to the SPF.
PM Lee last attended a Police Dining-In in 2014. Today, in the wake of his announcement on Monday (15 April 2024) that he will hand over the reins of leadership to Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong on 15 May 2024, it is the SPF’s deepest honour and privilege to host another Dining-In for him, to thank him for his decades of service to the nation, and to show our highest respect and esteem for him.
President of the Mess Committee, Deputy Commissioner of Police How Kwang Hwee, delivered a citation to thank PM Lee for his strong support for the SPF, and his service to the nation as Prime Minister over the last 20 years.
At the event, Commissioner of Police Hoong Wee Teck also presented PM Lee with the Temasek Sword, the highest honour accorded by the SPF, in appreciation of the unwavering support which PM Lee has given to the SPF over the decades.
More than 100 guests and SPF officers attended the event, which also included a toast to PM Lee and performances by the SPF Combined Band.
