Deputy Assistant Commissioner of Police (DAC) Wong Keng Hoe (黄敬豪) assumed command of Central Police Division on 9 September 2024. He took over from Assistant Commissioner of Police (AC) Ang Boon Sheng, Jeremy (汪文胜), who assumed the post of Director, Resource Division at the Ministry of Trade and Industry on the same day.

DAC Wong, 33, joined the Singapore Police Force (SPF) in 2009. In his 15 years with the SPF, he has held several key appointments, including Deputy Commander of Jurong Police Division, Assistant Director (Policy Development) of the Policy Development Division in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), and Commanding Officer of Marine Parade Neighbourhood Police Centre.

AC Ang, 37, joined the Singapore Police Force (SPF) in 2006. He has served 18 years with the SPF and has held several key appointments including Deputy Commander of Woodlands Police Division, Assistant Director (Home Team Operations Management) of the Joint Operations Group in the MHA, Head Operations and Training of Central Police Division, and Commanding Officer of Bukit Batok Neighbourhood Police Centre.

As Commander of Central Police Division, AC Ang was part of many major security operations such as the National Day Parade, the Marina Bay Singapore Countdown celebrations, Formula One Singapore Grand Prix, Thaipusam, Theemithi (Firewalking), and the Presidential Election in 2023. AC Ang also played a pivotal role in driving transformation initiatives including improving the management of persons-in-custody and enforcement of warrants of arrest. He improved efficiency in processes by making them leaner, digitalising workflows and introducing technology to complement officers’ work. Beyond operational excellence, AC Ang strongly advocated a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. He implemented new operational concepts and capabilities, such as the Crowd@MarinaBay live map and lighting solutions for crowd management. They have become mainstays in Central Police Division’s crowd safety deployments.

Reflecting on his tenure as Commander of Central Police Division, AC Ang said, “It has been my singular honour leading Central Police Division with its dynamic and bustling operational terrain. I will always remain humbled by the mission-focus, hard work and sacrifices of our officers in Central Police Division. They have always been supportive of me and I will miss working alongside them. I am also immensely grateful to the community, the grassroots, and our partners and stakeholders for your trust and support in safeguarding our precincts. It has been a deeply meaningful command stint and I have no doubt that DAC Wong will take the Division to greater heights.”
