A total of 29 men and 33 women, aged between 18 and 73, are being investigated for various offences, following a series of multi-agency enforcement operations conducted from 5 March to 8 March 2025. These operations are part of SPF’s ongoing efforts to target illegal and criminal activities.
The operations were led by Tanglin Police Division and supported by Housing & Development Board (HDB) and Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) covering the various locations such as Toa Payoh, Novena, Bukit Timah Road, Orchard Road, Balestier Road and Selegie Road.
The details of some of these operations are as follows:
On 5 March 2025, officers from Tanglin Police Division, HDB and ICA conducted enforcement operations against various massage establishments and commercial units in the vicinity of Toa Payoh. The Police and ICA also conducted similar enforcement operations along Balestier Road and Orchard Road. A total of 20 women, aged between 18 and 48, were arrested for offences under the Women’s Charter Act 1961 and Employment of Foreign Manpower Act 1990 (EFMA).
Between 6 March and 7 March 2025, officers from Tanglin Police Division conducted an enforcement operation against illegal gambling activities in the vicinity of Novena, Toa Payoh and Bukit Timah Road. A total of 23 men and five women, aged between 20 and 53, were arrested for offences under the Gambling Control Act 2022. Chips in place of cash, mobile phones, and other gambling-related paraphernalia were seized as case exhibits.
Between 7 March and 8 March 2024, officers from Tanglin Police Division conducted enforcement operations against illegal gambling activities located in the vicinity of Toa Payoh. Six men and two women, aged between 50 and 73, were investigated for offences under the Gambling Control Act 2022. Cash amounting to more than S$3,900. and other gambling-related paraphernalia were seized as case exhibits. In addition, enforcement checks were conducted at public entertainment outlets along Selegie Road. Six women, aged between 22 and 32 were arrested for offences under the Women’s Charter Act 1961 and Employment of Foreign Manpower Act 1990 (EFMA).
Investigations against the 62 individuals are ongoing.
