On 26 September 2024, the EmpowHER-ing Women in Blue event was held at the Home Team Academy. The annual event aims to attract female students to a career in the Singapore Police Force (SPF) through a curated experiential programme that allows them to try out the various aspects of Police training.
The event began with a career sharing session by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Candy Ko, Deputy Officer Commanding of the Police Tactical Unit (PTU) in the Special Operations Command (SOC), where she shared on the various exciting posting opportunities available in the Force.
The Special Women Task Team (SWTT) then conducted a live demonstration and had a short sharing on their capabilities.
The participants immersed in the “training” of a Police officer where they honed their investigation skills through the Virtual Reality On-Scene Investigation System and had fun during the mini IPPT competition as they put their sit-ups and push-ups ability to the test. The event concluded with a small prize presentation for the winners of the IPPT competition.
The participants shared that the event had broadened their understanding of a career with the SPF and increased their interest in applying after their studies.
A huge thank you to all the officers involved for making the event a success!
